This look didn't actually turn out how I planned for it to. I was initially wanting a very fun and vibrant peach eye, but ended up doing more of a subtle lilac and champagne shimmery eye with some gold and mauve on the bottom lash line. And since I ended up doing the more purple looking eye, I decided to complement it with a peach lip instead.
Although it wasn't what I envisioned in my mind, the look came together fairly well.
Since it is summertime, I've been trying to keep everything super bright and fun lately for all of my clients. I'm actually already planning a hot pink/magenta lip for one of my portfolio volunteers coming up soon.
I did actually fill Rae's brows in, but she had such a good shape already! I just wanted to give them a bit more definition (like always, I know), but the blonde powder I used really made them like "WOAH!"
I also smudged our her black liner with some black shadow, so it was a bit more smokey on the lid.
The highlight, you can tell I applied very generously. Depending on how oily a person's skin is, I love to highlight the tip of the nose, definitely the cupid's bow, the cheekbones, a tad on the chin and center of the forehead. It's important to have a balance, though, so I don't apply too much. If you do apply too much highlighter-- since it is most likely shimmery, then you'll look like either an oil slick (if your skin is oily) or a tin man. I tend to apply generously on the cupid's bow and tops of the cheeks, but am very light-handed on the other areas.
I also didn't over-contour on this look. I tried to give her a nice bronzed contour, but nothing too harsh or dark.
If you contour lightly and blend it well, then it looks very much natural, and it's perfect for day or night wear. Sometimes I go for a more dramatic look on myself, but mostly I lean more towards a softer contour that's been buffed and smoothed out, so the skin just looks naturally bronzed with some extra dimension.
