I really want to make this review short and sweet and to the point. My feelings on this palette are straightforward, so let's get to it.
When I ordered my Cinderella loot, I saw the Eyes on MAC palettes on their site, too. I think it was the day or two before they sent out emails to all of their subscribers showcasing the palettes. And since I've really been trying to expand my MAC eyeshadow collection, I figured why not go ahead and get one of these palettes, which included a few of the colors on my list to buy for my pro palette.
First off, I want to hop into the packaging, which is the standard clear lid that most MAC shadow palettes have these days, even the refillable pro palettes. I, myself, like the clear lids. I think the packaging is sleek and simple, yet classy. I also like being able to see the colors of whatever product is inside.
The plastic is par the course for MAC quality with the magnetized lid and durability.
...so burgundy it is.
When I got my package in the mail, imagine my surprise when I realized how SMALL this palette is. It's roughly the same size as a compact, just a tad bigger because of the boxier square shape. I didn't look at the size before my purchase, so I guess that's probably my fault. But I was expecting the palette to have full-size shadows in it, not mini ones. Upon first purchasing the palette, I did wonder why MAC was only retailing them for $40 when they had so many shadows.
Just to warn those of you who are considering buying one of these (which include the burgundy palette, an amber palette, a navy palette, and a purple palette), so that you aren't shocked like I was when you realize the palette is much smaller than anticipated.

Above are some swatches of the colors, which I really do like. I could have potentially done without "Honeylust" and maybe even "Star Violet," Both are shades I feel like saying "been there, done that" to.
I like how the palette provides a few different transition shades, a few dark and a few lighter. I would, however, have liked if they'd provided a highlight shade for the browbone area even though it is a burgundy palette. To me, that just makes it less convenient for traveling with, despite the smaller size. Overall, though, the quality of the shadows is good.
Would I buy another one of these? Probably.
$40 is still pretty cheap for nine shadows, even if they are a bit smaller. It is a valuable way to become more acquainted with the permanent shadows and know what you might want to add to your pro palette or z palettes.
As always, feel free to comment with any questions or thoughts on these Times Nine palettes. xx
